Why do you double sleeve? Pros cons?
Spilled water on my modern deck a few weeks ago. All good.
Because money. I foil a lot of value cards so nowadays i double.sleeve any deck i build. A single sleeve lets dirt still get in the sleeves and on the cards. Double sleeve keeps most dirt and grime off the cards.
I double sleeve my modern decks that's it. Standard and Jank stuff I don't. I just like protecting my cards from accidental water spills especially when you have a 1000+ dollar deck.
Pros: Protects cards simple as that.
Cons: shuffling is rough because the deck is super thick. Air gets in the first sleeve so they're a bit Balloony for the first few days/week.
I understand you use 2 different kind of sleeves?

Yes. First layer are clear and snug. Usually KMC perfect fits or something similar. Then regular sleeve after that.
My crazy expensive foily EDH deck is triple sleeved. Pro-fits inside ultrapro premium sleeves (the ones with the 5 different mana symbols in a circle), inside sleeve-sleeves (slightly larger than average to allow room for a sleeved card)
Pros: protected.
Cons: shuffling.
Pro: preserves cards well
Con: sometimes a perfect fit doesn't fit easily in another sleeve, some sleeves just get manufactured a bit tighter than others
Do you sleeve them top up both sleeves?
You put the perfect fits opening towards the bottom of the card then your regular sleeve opening towards the top as usual.
Normally the perfect fit opening is on the bottom, then you slide it in the regular sleeve like normal. It's like putting a clear protector on your phone. It's nice, but not completely necessary. My lgs doesn't sell kmc perfect fits, and I hate ultra pro perfect fits because they bend the card, so I choose not to. Once My jund list is all sleeved up I'll be getting some perfect fits.
Thanks for the info. Also has anyone seen sleeves that you can put the card in on the side?
The long part of the card.
I find bridge shuffling a pain because the cards seem to always get stuck in the opening at some point.
I've never seen side loaded sleeves.

That actually sounds like a good idea. You get the benefit of the perfect fit opening not exposed to the opening of the outer sleeve but you don't have to tap them down constantly. I have the problem where my card and outer sleeve shift down and the perfect fit shifts up, giving a gap at the bottom of the sleeve.

I don't think you are alone.
