cast {Thoughtseize}

saw cards on hand of player 2..

Isn't it fun when you can see your loss in the opening hand, and know the game would only take like four turns?

I recently found out I like red aggro. Been playing with it until rank 12-13 in Duels. Then I kept running into GW voltron, which happened to be a bad matchup. So switched to GW elves midrange..
However RDW/Burn can be so brutal vs anything that tries to interact.

You see, I can understand fetching a basic to Thoughtseize turn 1. I can kinda get shocking for a turn 1 Thoughtseize. But taking five to discard a card is just absurd. The only real reason you'd want to do that is if the field is loaded with linear decks like Bogles where you just strip their opening hand of a card and the deck just falls apart. And even then, you might as well fetch a basic because if your opponent is on one of those kinds of decks, he'll just scoop in response to the Thoughtseize to deny you information for sideboarding. Fetching for a Swamp doesn't give them as much information against you as fetching for a Watery Grave.

And, of course, when you run into this situation, taking three is better than taking five.
