I'm in 9th grade (freshman in high school) and I'm in the school band. Our band has roughly 200 people in it, so we're split into two bands, one is class A and one is class C. You get put into a band depending on how good you are, but onto the important stuff.
Our bands have officers, which are the people that do the jobs so that the directors dont have to. There's media tech (which advertises our bands), there's president which runs the practices and gives orders when the directors can't, theres treasurer and secretary (these are obvious) and, most importantly, there's librarians. I'm running for this last one. What librarians do is whenever we get music, we'll sort it out, copy it, pass it out, keep everything organized, etcetera. If it has to do with copies of music the librarians probably do it. There's three of us running and two of us will get elected. The voting is tomorrow and we're all supposed to give short speeches about why we should be an officer. After all the speeches, we all vote. I have no clue what I want my speech to be, and really need help. So if you guys have any ideas please post them, if you think they're good or not! Remember, this is high school so it can be kind of silly or something as long as it isn't stupid.
Also, we're all allowed to hang posters as long as they easily fit onto an 8.5x11 sheet of paper. I want to make some posters, but can't use anything that can make them. If anyone can make me some posters, that would be simply amazing! I'll post the school name and logo in a few minutes when I get the opportunity and will provide any other information you need. If you have a good poster, PM it to me, don't post it here. Thank you!
If I left anything out let me know.
Any particular instrument to focus on force posters? And I need yo face.
For speeches, make sure to ask how everyone is doing when you start. Give a short and sweet speech about being an easy guy to work with, and that you are efficient with organizing so you can get to playing sooner. You can tune your speech after listening to other people. End it with telling people to vote for the person most deserving, whether it's you or not.
Or just make a bunch of strange and silly metaphors about how band and being a librarian are like XYZ. For example: band is like a lasagna. It's layers of people all working together, some being the heavy lifters like the meat, others the leaders like the noodle, and still others being the cheese that ties it all together. When you remove one it becomes a mess, sort of like Sloppy Jo.
