This deck looks SWEET
I love it. It's a blast to play
Took this to modern without the abrupt decays and maelstrom pulse(hasn't arrived in the mail yet) and went 1-3. The abrupt a would have been nice, but the downfall was a shaky mana base. Further testing needed.
Can you explain this deck a little. And why the snow covered lands? Thanks

I could be mistaken but if he needs a land source and let's say an island specifically {Gifts Ungiven} only allows one of each card name thus he could choose
Island
Watery Grave
Snow-Covered Island
Gifts is a reanimate/utility deck. The you win by casting {gifts ungiven} into a big fatty and {unbirial rites}. They choose two that have to go to the graveyard, then next turn you animate. It's also got "packages" that you can get.
The spot removal package is:
{path to exile}
{abrupt decay}
{snap caster mage}
{slaughter pact}
This guarantees an instant speed kill spell
You can also grab the land hate, hand hate combo. This is the combo that punishes greedy mana bases or control match ups. You gifts into:
{life from the loam}
{ghost quarters}
Any fetchland
{Ravens crime}
Any combination of cards they can give you will punish them. Double land means two discard, then next turn dredge loam.
And finally, my favorite gifts package:
{engineered explosives}
{academy ruins}
{life from the loam}
{snap caster mage}
This lets you get a constant recurring engineered explosives. Against certain decks it's a shutout.
I just prefer having snow art.

Ahh I see. I read a Gifts tron primer that ran snow covered islands for the purpose of getting an island no matter what
It's clever
It struggles against so many decks. I would add lily if I had her for sure.
Took out thoughtsieze for serum visions. I would rather have a serum visions late game, and thoughtsieze does nothing to the decks that have a strong matchup with gifts such as junk and jund
Taking this to modern tonight. Also, when bfz comes out replacing Grave Titan for new ulamog.

Why? Titan honestly seems like it might just be better
Just gonna test it.
