{hardened scales} is like a second {doubling season} for Animar.
There is an infinite combo with  {Ancestral Statue} If you want to include one. (Bounce itself for counters, @4 he's free to cast).
Both not too expensive.

Look at munchlax' list. It's cheap to build and is extremely efficient.
