Is {dig through time} nessisary in my esper Dragons? I'm making a budget version since I have 3 {dragonlord ojutai}s already. I don't want to spend 5 bucks on a copy and was wondering if it was nessisary.
You /can/ get away with {Treasure Cruise} or {Jace's Ingenuity} but {Dig Through Time} is the best option. It's instant speed, you're going to cast it for {U}{U} most of the time and it lets you see seven cards and pick what you need.
It's absolutely necessary. Without it the deck can't function. Plus Dig is seeing Vintage play so it will maintain its value!!
Good card is good

It's also seeing Legacy play. So, yeah, Dig isn't going to get cheaper without a reprint or a banning. The best time to get them is right now.

...*remove {Dig Through Time} from my trade binder*
Ugh guys dig isn't going to be shooting up any time soon unless it is foil. Dig is banned in modern wich hurts it and legacy an vintage players just want foils to show off their penis. The best comparison is {deathrite shaman}. Deathrite was 15 then banned in modern and is now 7 ish with foil maintaining. I don't see dig going past 5 for non foil post rotation.

But it isn't going to go below five, either. The point is that if Dig Through Time changes price at all, it will go up unless something drastic happens.

Maybe I just don't see it staying at 5 posts rotation I just see it as a 3$ at best card for a few years because of how much of the set was open.
Dig was $2 for low and now it's back up to $4 low and $5 mid.
Shard less bug and bug shells are better in current legacy meta.
Also khans staples are starting to rise
Swiftpears are now $3 mid
How many should I buy, 3 or 4
4
I'm building an esper dragon shell for when BTZ comes out and I don't want to spend that much money on 4 cards. Is there anywhere I could buy them for less than 5 bucks a pop

I wouldn't invest in DTT unless you plan on playing them now. The ban dig train is slowly rolling along and hopefully the monstrosity will be out of legacy soon.
I wouldn't worry so much about that. Besides, if it does get banned in Legacy, I doubt it will become bulk, and if it does, OP's only lost out on, like, $4 per Dig.

You can check TCGPlayer to see if there are any sellers who are selling for less (including shipping). You run the risk of buying from less reputable retailers, but that's not necessarily going to be an issue.
But what you have to realize, though, is that $5 isn't actually expensive for a single card. That same $5 probably buys you a fast food meal, but the Dig will last you longer than that meal ever will. If you're intending to build a competitive deck, you're not going to get anywhere unless you're willing to forfeit a couple of McDonald's meals for some singles.

Yeah, I thought hangar back walker was too expensive for 1.99. I'm such an idiot
