Title: Miracles Bonfire
Post by: Splicer on August 19, 2015, 03:10:24 PM
Why doesn't miracles run {Bonfire of the dammed}? I'm not a legacy player, but I'm curious because I'd like to get into it.

It's not good enough. Terminus is a better wrath and bonfires burn to the face won't kill them

That makes sense.. And it can't get rid of TNN either, can it? I think I understand it now.

Miracles is mostly a U/W control deck, with red splashed for {Pyroblast} / {Red Elemental Blast} and some other sideboard cards.

Part of the advantage of keeping the main deck red cards to a minimum (usually just blast effects, if any), is that the red splash does not impede the deck from running 5-7 basics, but not having to run basic Mountain. Running mountain as opposed to just {Volcanic Island} had a real cost when your deck had UU and WW spells main deck.

While that's part of why people don't play bonfire, it's also because it takes a lot of setup, and more often than not {Pyroclasm} will have the same effect with less setup, if you even want that type of effect in your board (not everyone does).
