Does the Æther Flash ability deal damage to creature with protection from red?

{Aether Flash}
No.

{æther flash} actually is triggered and does its damage, but that damage is then prevented by the protection. Relevant in case of "damage can't be prevented" effects such as {leyline of punishment}.

But, in an everyday situation, a creature with protection from red will not be damaged by flash.

If a repercussion was out with Æther flash and a proc red creature was played would the creatures controller be safe from damage as the original damage was prevented?

{Repurcussion}
Please use curly brackets to make it easier to find the cards in question(quote me to see how).
And since the pro red prevented the damage, {Repercussion} deals no damage to the player.
