Title: Converted mana cost
Post by: Maxpayne03 on July 21, 2015, 08:03:44 PM
I have a doubt with cards with alternate casting cost.
Say {Nourishing Shoal}; if I remove a green card with 5 casting cost, does it mean that the shoal has a converted mana cost of 5?

The CMC of a card is always what's printed in the upper right hand corner, regardless of how the spell is paid for.  In the case of a spell with X, X is taken into account.  Shoal has a normal cost of XGG, so the Converted Mana cost will be the CMC of the exiled card (5) plus the two G, making it's converted mana cost is 7.

If my opponent is using {Disrupting Shoal} To counter, he will need a blue card of 7 casting cost?

If he would, yeah. Or less would really have helped this card. Because there is {Scornful Egotist}..
