I finally think this deck has the ability to move into the mid game. This is a rough first draft, thoughts? If anybody is interested I can whip up a deck tech.
{Pia and Kiran Naalar}?

{Pia and Kiran Naalar}?
I honestly like {Whirler Rouge} better. Mainly due to the legendary clause and that {Shrapnel Blast} is a better sac outlet.
Just wanted to make sure it had been considered.
With convoke I feel as though Ugin's Nexus and shrapnel blast is possible in this deck. I'm not a fan of whirler rogue unfortunately
Bump spy network to three?
Have you considered testing out {Day's Undoing} by chance? Just curious...not sure how it would interact with this deck

I've played it before. I don't think the thopter tokens are enough to make it good.
{Whirler Rogue} breaks stalemates and pumps two nice fliers out. I like it so far, we'll see in testing.

I think I agree. It just might be one of the best cards in the deck. I was also considering {Bident of Thassa}.

No, I hadn't. I don't think it'll be good in this deck. I want more fuel early game, I can't afford giving my opponent fuel to catch up.
Strongly considering {Artificers Epiphany}.

That's what I figured and Artificers came to mind as well, but I had assumed you had thought about it since it has the "artifact" attached to it.
Pia and Kiran are way better than whirler rogue he legendary clause isn't even bad bc you just play the 2nd copy and get 2 fliers just play it post combat. The sac deals 2 is great and can be done multiple times at instant speed obvi Shrapnel Blast is better but you don't always draw blast

I'm still not sold on it. Three mana for two damage is bad, adding a sac is worse. I'll try one but I don't think I'll like it.
3 mana for 2 damage that is uncounterable (in std) on a stick is not bad at all plus the sac isn't too hard I mean how many times do you top deck a dumb drum (hehe rhymes) or ornithopter
I've been testing this deck a little as well and I feel like the chief engineer scuddles engine is a little too slow. I've been testing this deck as an aggro deck pretty much. I found hangerback is the best card in the deck. Drum is good at powering out spy network and whirly. I play whirl at 3 and spy at 4 which seems extreme but it's really good. With those at higher numbers thopter engineer becomes and auto 4 of. I've had some good success with the deck but I've tested very minimally. Also {Phyrexian Revoker} Is a great card.
Could I see your list? I'll be revamping soon.
I would like to point out that {Pia and Kiran Naalar} are great on their own even without the sac outlet. You get 2 1/1 fliers dedicated to your deck's build and a 2/2 with a sac outlet that deals damage which could be relevant late game when, as an aggro deck, they should be at less than 5 life anyway.
But I get the same bodies with {Whirler Rouge} except that I can tap a {Ghostfire Blade} and {Darksteel Citadel} to drive it home instead of paying three and losing something. As I said I'll try it but I don't think I'll be impressed.
{Whirler rouge} is good. I'm not saying to toss it. {Pia and Kiran nalaar} are great as a 2 of finisher also. I'm saying to use both. A total of 3-4 rouges and 2 nalaars since it's a legend

That's a lot of four drops. Too many IMO.
