Title: More spellskite
Post by: Oldschoolmtgnoob on July 06, 2015, 09:26:37 PM
How would {spellskite} work for cards with strive? {natures panoply} for example. Say you strive three times.

Assuming both.

For some reason I imagined changing the target from those spells would somewhat null all the other targets. But seeing it spelled out, especially with the "duh" inflection in the wording makes it seem so obvious. Thanks

You can't "steal" more than one target.

To clarify, if there is more than one instance of the word "target" you can switch all of them ({Kholagan's Command} for example), but since most/all Strive spells only mention target once.

Rulings:
If a spell or ability has multiple targets but doesn't use the word "target" multiple times, such as Fulgent Distraction, you can only successfully change one of the targets to Spellskite.

If a spell or ability has a variable number of targets, you can't change the number of targets.

In other words, you can't change the number of targets of a strifed spell, and you can only change one target to skite.
