Actually, New Yorkers and quite a bit of folk from the 'New Holland' region (somewhere in the Amish area), were dutchies. Would still be if we hadn't traded Manhattan for Suriname..

I am pa Dutch a branch of Amish folk that joined civilian life.... The Amish are not of any ethnicity but are the original "mutts" for they were nomadic and traveled from one European country to the next as they were forced out to eventually make it across seas

Didn't mean to say all Amish are from Dutch descent, but there is an area traditionally settled by Dutch emigrants.
