Title: Foil Lure
Post by: Kaylesh on June 14, 2015, 08:07:57 AM
While sorting my cards for entry in a database, so that I actually know what I have, I found this foil {lure} from Mercadian Masques.
Odd thing is, it has some sort of falling star symbol on the text box.
Is this a thing all Masques-era foils had? Or is this a promo of some sorts?

I believe all foils at that time had the shooting star. I can't be sure however.
Lure was never a promo of any kind

Thanks. I couldn't find info on it anywhere, and even shops don't seem to have pics of the foils up.
Still a lovely card to abuse, and so shiny :p

I just {lure} my {engulfing slagwurm} and be done with it.

All foils of the time (I believe it changed with the mirrodin card border) had foil borders and the Wizards shooting star (now the FNM/GP promo symbol). No foil art or text box.

Incorrect. The whole card was foil. And it sucked because they would warp worse than today's cards...

I'll clarify myself. The whole card is foil but the art and textbox were printed opaque over the foiling, so it appeared that only the border and star were foil.
