Title: B/G MORBID
Post by: Enrico on April 23, 2012, 05:26:01 PM
Hey guys I'm starting out at magic and I'm looking to build a green black morbid deck with cheap creatures but effective creatures and cool combos

Any ideas?

{undying evil} is a fun little combat trick to mess with your opponents - they will wonder why you are suicide attacking a good creature at them. If they block, for 1 mana your creature dies, comes back with a +1/+1 counter, and returns to the battlefield untapped and ready to block. And best of all, his death triggers morbid, so in your 2nd main phase you can go nuts with your mana.

And if he suspects foul play and doesn't block? Well, your creature gets to hit him in the face.

Also, with creature cards like {festerhide boar} or {morkut banshee} who enter the battlefield with great benefits on morbid, don't be afraid to play them without morbid, then suicide charge them with {undying evil} at the ready. Their undying will trigger their own morbid. In the case of the boar, he'll die and come back as an unexpected 6/6, with 1 counter from undying and 2 from morbid.

I give my {predator ooze} death touch with {onyx Mage} or {deadly allure} and attack with it, it usually works but my friends got smart so I had to throw {lure} in the deck

Add {glissa the traitor} she's a meanie with all that other stuff going on she will somehow take some of the focus allowing you to drop some bad morbid trigger'd creatures. :)

Anything with undying plays incredibly well with {birthing pod}, particularly {strangleroot geist} and {Vorapede}, or anyone with {Mikaeus, the Unhallowed} on the battlefield.

What you guys think of this. Sack lots of creatures to cast ghoultree cheap and when attacking use Tainted strike

Could also look at things like {gutter grime} or {lumber knot}

{Triumph of the hordes} would be a better surprise infect win card. Otherwise probably better just hitting for straight damage all of the time.

Yeah. But in a multiplayer game, {Tainted Strike} can be used on opponents to make them kill eachother! ;D
