Yes. Banished priest enters the battlefield then shoots him.
Think of it like this. Your friend is a warrior and you are shooting arrows at it. All of your arrows are bouncing off his shield. Your arrows are spells on the stack, the shield is emmy's protection. However, someone runs up to your friend and slices off his head. This person is on the battlefield. Emmy has no protection from things already on the battlefield
