I'm just getting into this set and I really liked the way that the silumgar tribe used the graveyard. So I built this deck for fun! Let me know what you think and give me some other cards I can use: I'm not super knowledgeable about what the current standard decks look like.
I'd suggest getting some {Temple of Deceit}. I'd probably go -2 island -2 swamp +4 {Temple of Deceit}.
{Sidisi, Undead Vizier}: You don't currently have anything in your deck that's really worth tutoring for. That being said this is still a solid card.
{Deathbringer Regent}: This guy is just too much mana. I personally wouldn't run him at all.
{Marang River Prowler}: I like this card but I don't think four is the optimal number. He never really dies so you could probably get away with 2.
{Bloodsoaked Champion}: I like the synergies with {Sidisi, Undead Vizier} and {Qarsi High Priest}.
{Zephyr Scribe}: This is a very underwhelming card, I wouldn't run it at all.
{Dutiful Attendant}: I feel like {Gravedigger} is better and even then I'm not super pleased.
{Qarsi High Priest}: How has this been working for you? I'm a pretty big fan but I don't know if it's good.
26 creatures
{Dark Deal}: You're not running {Waste Not} or {Fate Unraveler}, and that's really a different deck entirely so I'd remove this or cut it down to a 1-2 of.
{Taigam's Scheming}: I quite like this card. I'll talk about it more later.
{Corpseweft}: While this is a really cool card it's not really a good card. I'd personally rather be rocking {Empty the Pits} if this is what you're going for. However it might be viable if we tweak the deck a bit.
Now, suggestions. I personally think this deck needs to streamline into one plan. You said you like how the Silumgar Tribe used their graveyard, so I'll give you some suggestions in that area.
U/B Reanimator. With the goal of getting a big creature in your graveyard then using {Fearsome Awakening} or {Endless Obedience} to put it straight onto the battlefield. Cards like {Necromancer's Stockpile}, {Liliana Vess} and {Despise} get what you need in the GY while serving extra purposes. Cards like {Sulimgar, the Drifting Death}, {Dragonlord Sulimgar} and {Stormtide Leviathan} are the win conditions.
U/B Zombies. The focus is {Necromancer's Stockpile}. You then cantrip your way through your deck, discarding your creatures for 2/2s, then either flood the board with an {Empty the Pits} ({Corpseweft} could actually be better here) or use it for {Tasigur, the Golden Fang}, {Gurmag Angler} (which happens to be a synergetic zombie) or clear the way with {Murderous Cut}. Other inclusions are {Grave Strength} and {Obelisk of Urd}. {Sidisi, Undead Vizier} is a solid inclusion to tutor for {Necromancer's Stockpile} and such.
U/B {Soulflayer}. The goal is the most epic {Soulflayer} you can get. Indestructible with {Erebos, God of the Dead} and {Thassa, God of the Sea}. Deathtouch with {Typhoid Rats} and {Ruthless Ripper}, and hexproof with {Sulimgar, the Drifting Death}.
U/B GY value. Fill your GY with creatures and run {Nighthowler} and {Grave Strength}.
IMO all of these gain a lot by going Sultai. The original but not really GY manipulators. You get gems like {Sidisi, Brood Tyrant}, {Commune with the Gods}, {Sultai Charm}, {Satyr Wayfinder} and {Sultai Soothsayer}.
Some generic good stuff to note,
{Whip of Erebos}: ultra synergies with {Hornet Queen} and other ETB effects.
{Tasigur, the Golden Fang}: A cheap 4/5 that gets more value out if your GY. Win win.
{Murderous Cut}: one of the best kill spells in standard.
If you decide on any of these archetypes let me know. I have lists for most of them and I'm always willing to help with suggestions and ideas.
I really am intrested in the Zoms GY. Also, Necromancers Stockpile is a card I must have over looked and the draw power it gives me makes me fell a lot better about dropping the scribe. I'll update my list with your suggestions and see what happens. Thank you!
I'm on the fence about {empty the pits}. One good counter spell or a {drown in sorrow} if I don't have an obelisk and I've thrown away my graveyard for nothing. {Corpseweft} limited to only creatures, but it should get our early enough that hopefully they don't have the mana to counter. Also I can choose to make the zombies beefy by exiling more creatures (which is why the deck was so creature heavy before).
{Murderous Cut}, {Tasigur, the Golden Fang}, Gurmag Angler} and {Empty the Pits} all at once is a lot of strain on your GY.
I think cutting {Empty the Pits} is a good idea as {Corpseweft} is going to be doing more for you.
I'd run the four {Gurmag Angler}s as you can always pitch them to the stockpile instead.
{Murderous Cut} is fantastic but you can replace it with {Hero's Downfall}.
{Tasigur, the Golden Fang} is a one or two of. Depend on if/how many {Murderous Cut}s you keep.
{Risen Executioner} seems like a good idea. You can {Corpseweft} other stuff so he stays cheap and he's a nice anthem to get over {Drown in Sorrow}.
{Siren of the Silent Song}. It's very fragile but awesome when it sticks and you can always {Necromancer's Stockpile} it.
I'm really tempted to make a deck based on this...
