Title: {Howlpack Alpha} + {Cackling Counterpart}
Post by: BlackJester on November 08, 2011, 02:49:12 PM
{Howlpack Alpha} + {Cackling Counterpart}

Now there are several ways to get this done, but I wanted to do something in Standard.  The idea is that once you can flip any of the werewolves, then you immediately make a token copy of it.  That token will never be able to transform, since it doesn't have another side, and so you'll keep your wolf in play.  :D

Time to start deck building!

I'm surprised I havent heard about it yet. It just occured to me that {Phyrexian Metamorph} would be better because you don't really need the blue mana, you could just pay with life.

If I leave Standard, I'd also add {Arcane Laboratory} to help my wolves stay wolfy.

I think the "copy" will include the other side of the card, copying it all

Or clone might work. Do you have something to protect your werewolfes before they become wolfie?

Nope.

CR - 701.25. Transform

701.25a Only permanents represented by double-faced cards can transform. (See rule 711, “Double-Faced Cards.”) If a spell or ability instructs a player to transform any permanent that isn’t represented by a double-faced card, nothing happens.

i.e. tokens don't have sides, so nothing happens.  ;)

Nice... Paying 9 to have 5 copies of the alpha, every turn coming 5 7/7 wolf would be nice too(dont remember the name of the card though)

@Queezle, I just had the idea and am working on about three other decks right now.  I'll post a deck when I flesh something out.  It might be my only Standard deck.
