Me and my father are debating to go to the prerelease event or just buy 18 boosters when they come out. PS we are not going to be able to preregister for the 25$ so it will have to be 35$ at the door
Thanks
Of course we will buy boosters constantly, but just this for a few weeks

Depends. First off, do you consider yourself a pretty good player? Because going to the event well mean playing against some experienced guys. But then again, that leads to my second question. Are you more in it for the playing or the cards? Because if you wanna play, the event is a great way to get experience and tune your skills. But if you really just like the cards, get the packs.
My home shop here does 7 packs for 20$
I'm going to agree with moon here though it you just want stuff buy packs, but don't forget about the promos

Ah yes promos! And if you're looking for specific cards you could always buy singles.

Nice
Well it's for both, my father could not go to FNM so we decided to go to the event or get the packs to make up for it. So which one would be better, going to the event and get 12 packs for about 70 dollars and having some fun or just get 18 packs for 50 dollars and have little fun
Go to the prerelease. Snap decision.
I would go.
Even for 70 dollars for 2 people?

The experience is just worth it. Try to find a Two-Headed Giant event.

I guess your right, I'm going to the event!
Here's what I've told my friends and I'm going to pass this onto everyone on this lovely forum.
Magic: The Gathering is an experience. From top to bottom, mtg is a experience based product. Instrumentally speaking, the cards themselves have no true value. What gives these pieces of paper and cardboard real intrinsic value is the experience. What we call the game. Prerelease is THE GREATEST EXPERIENCE magic has to offer. It is the purest and the most idealistic format there is. People come out of the woodwork and everyone starts at the same level (give or take on lucky pulls). On this day, you have the same cards as Gabiel Nassif would have.
Because of this added experience, your cards will hold more value to yourself because of the memories.

;) best speach ever... Will go if able (will have to budget if we go but oh well)
My vote goes to prerelease as well, it's just more fun, and like its been said, every one starts as equals.
