Title: Just confirming
Post by: Spencer Addington on May 12, 2015, 10:39:34 PM
{stony silence} + {mycoloth lattice}

This locks down a board, right? Lands can't be tapped for mana. All activated abilities can't be activated. The only thing that can really happen is creatures attacking, right?

  INCORRECT-> I believe tapping for mana is a mana ability and not covered under the "activated abilities" text of Stony Silence. So, they can be tapped for mana.  Will look for ruling right now.

EDIT: Turns out, they can't be tapped for mana. You are correct. From Stony Silence's rulings:

9/22/2011   Mana abilities of artifacts also can't be activated.

Triggered abilities still happen, so, for example, {Savage Ventmaw} attacking will allow someone to get mana and disenchant one of the two.

Well, {Disenchant} is white, so.... Maybe not? :D

You're completely correct though. Good loophole to catch and mention.

If someone has a Lattice, color doesn't matter :P

Not if Ventmaw makes only green/red and you can't cast that Disenchant ;)

I didn't link the card because I meant a disenchant effect... {Destructive Revelry} if it makes you happy. :-)

With {mycosynth lattice} out, you can cast {disenchant} with your gruul mana since you can use mana as if it were any color.

Then just count the cards left in the libraries. Whoever has the most will be the last to draw out, and wins :p
