Title: Reprinting of Daybreak Coronet
Post by: LadyGrixis on May 05, 2015, 11:30:04 AM
So.............I'm a little excited about this, considering I have a playset of the original prints in FOIL :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Not really feeling the new artwork, but what do you guys think?

Considering it will not be $33 per copy

I may finish bogles rather than disassemble it for loot

I run Bogles at every Modern event and LOVE the way it mulligans. Daybreak is my jam; I just really wish they had put more effort into the new artwork.

I don't like how the main focus is Brimaz, instead of the coronet. I'm also fond of the Future Sight card designs too.
Regardless, I'm pumped that it's being reprinted.

This cross of brimaz and daybreak coronet means we will see another reprint of both cards in the same block. Or wizards is telling us that brimaz + daybreak = OP

It looks more like Ajani than Brimaz to me

I also dislike the art, which is funny because I didn't think the original was that great. I think the original will hold its value based on frame art, and that it's a commander staple and 4 of in Bogles. I'm not quite as excited since again it's losing a decent chuck of its value (rares may not recover, the future is pretty uncertain) I could see it settling at 15$ short term.

I do think the new art will look sweet in foil though. Bogles is definitely taking a big hit (leyline was spoiled too). I would not be surprised if Gaddock was in the set too

Oh man, if they gave us Horizon Canopy and Daybreak after just giving us Windswepts after they just gave us Temple Gardens...a whole Bogles deck might be $150-200.

yep
not trying to spend much on modern, was gonna part it out and now that we got daybreak in, might as well finish it, in testing ive found canopy isnt necessarily needed

I recently decided that Bogles will be my legit modern deck (I love UW Gifts tron, but its just not competitive) so I'm stoked.
