I was watching a buddy play anywho he dropped a {Bloodstained Mire} on the field and sacrificed it paid the life and brought out a {Blood Crypt} I thought you can only bring out basic lands
They say mountain or swamp (or any combination but this was the one you used) and blood crypt is actually a mountain swamp if you look next to where it says land. This makes it a target for any rb fetch, so it can be grabbed by {arid Mesa} or {verdant catacombs} or whatever.

Nowhere on a fetch land does it use the word "basic". On {bloodstained mire} it says Mountain or Swamp Card. {Blood crypt} is both a mountain and a swamp card, though your friend coulD, for example, find a {godless shrine} or a {steam vents} with his {bloodstained mire} since they are swamp and mountain cards, respectively.
Edit: got hasted.
