Title: booster boxes
Post by: VQMracing on April 28, 2015, 07:02:24 PM
Hey guys, I got offered 3 alpha booster boxes today and am considering pulling the trigger. Is there anyway to tell if they are in fact legit and haven't been searched? Any and all help appreciated.

Blah New Mexico, too far of a drive to make an offer

I would suggest googling it. Might find better answers there.

ill be honest, I have no idea, new age boxes have the "Wizards" clear wrap, old boxes didn't, id look online for pictures of sealed alpha boxes and see if anything looks unique

Humm. Maybe Google.

Found this:
http://www.trollandtoad.com/p116159.html

Which says

Description:   Please note this is NOT a sealed booster box. No Alpha booster boxes were ever shrinkwrapped. If you see one that is, it was reshrinkwrapped by someone since it was made by Wizards of the Coast.

So if it is shrinkwrapped, it has been tampered with, and if it isn't it has probably been tampered with anyway? Lol

I'm very skeptical with hearing about those alpha boxes. However, that being said I am looking for an alpha booster pack for my collection. If anyone is willing to part with one I'd be highly interested. I also could travel to help inspect the product wherever it's at.

I may have missed it but is this where the alpha boxes are? Where at in NM? Again, I'm highly skeptical about this but I'm more than willing to give my 'professional' advice. I started playing with unlimited and still saw alpha and beta packs/boxes. All that has been said about them not having shrink wrap and seeing through the packs is true. You are able to see each and every card in the pack if you wanted to and still it could look unsearched if done carefully.
