Title: Ashling + basilisk collar
Post by: Crossed on April 25, 2015, 10:27:43 PM
{Ashling the pilgrim} has a {basilisk collar} equipped to it. I checked the rules and I'm only confirming the information. If Ashling, which is controlled by me, damages me then I also gain that life, correct?

702.15b Damage dealt by a source with lifelink causes that source's controller, or its owner if it has no controller, to gain that much life (in addition to any other results that damage causes). See rule 119.3.

Correct. Net effect your life total stays the same.

Just to properly use the phrase 'Net effect', you gain a total of the number of counters removed, times the number of creatures and other players, since the lifelink applies to ALL of the damage.  Blowing her up with 5 counters when your opponent has 2 creatures and you have no others, net result is you gain 20 life.

Also, I'm pretty positive the deathtouch will kill anything she touches.

Nice EDH combo. Boardwipe (because of deathtouch) AND massive amounts of life.
