Title: Dash and Revel
Post by: Estel2931 on April 14, 2015, 05:11:51 PM
So a friend of mine who is building a dash deck was wondering how it worked when a {Eidolon of the Great Revel} is on the board and a {Warbringer} is dashed out. Does he take 2 damage because of the dash costing 3 or does he not take the damage since the converted mana cost is 4?

I told him I thought he wouldn't take the damage, but I want to get the official ruling to be sure...thanks :)

If something asks for a Converted Mana Cost, it's alway what's in the corner, no matter what cost is paid.  A Dashed Warbringer still has a CMC of 4, even though you only paid 3.  An Overloaded {Mizzium Mortars} has a CMC of 2, even though you paid 6.
