Notes: My attempt at dragon tribal
|
{Crucible of the Spirit Dragon}: {Prophet of Kruphix} synergies, okay‽ Running it as a one of until I have a verdict
I feel like I could use 1-2 more lands. Just having a hard time making room.
{Sylvan Caryatid}: I shouldn't have to explain this.
{Atarka, World Render}: One amazing card. Doubling my attack power is insane. Closes games fast.
{Prophet of Kruphix}: Allows me to play my dragons faster and bluff counters.
{Thunderbreak Regent}: People seem to forget that it reads "whenever a dragon". Amazingly good as all my dragons are pretty much must answer threats.
{Stormbreath Dragon}: One of the best dragons in standard. Just all in all good.
{Dragonlord Atarka}: Talking about shattering stalemates. Especially with her FRF self alongside.
{Dragonlord's Servant}: must have in dragon tribal.
{Rattleclaw Mystic}: Because I needed more dorks and I felt like {Elvish Mystic} wasn't good enough.
{Savage Ventmaw}: A dragon that helps cast more dragons‽
{Draconic Roar}: Worst case scenario some removal. Pretty solid.
{Temur Ascendancy}: All my dragons trigger the draw, and having haste will make opponents think twice.
{Sarkhan's Triumph}: Usually fetching Atarka.
{Sarkhan Unbroken}: The main draw to playing Temur. Not gonna lie.
{Frontier Siege}: Debating swapping with something like {Explosive Vegetation}.
This is a pretty rough draft. Haven't tested it much. I really think Temur is where it's at for dragon tribal.
Everything looks sweet except the {temur ascendency}. I'd go to 4 {draconian roar}. Temur ascendency is pretty bad unless your going infinite with it.
Also {sarkan's triumph} seems like a wasted slot. Missed that. I'd try to go up to two {dragonlord atarka}. That card basically won cvm the Syracuse open.

I agree with all your suggestions except that hasty dragons have been very relevant... {Draconic Roar} is just so good and easier to cast. I'd like to keep a tutor for the almost toolboxy feel. I'll mess around.
Thanks.
How's prophet of kruphix working out for you? I feel like it's a big removal target that will draw a kill spell before you can get any value from it...

That happens. But removal is never a reason to not play a card, and if it eats the removal one of my dragons doesn't. So far I like it.
{icefall regent}? Not the most impressive body but will slow your opponent up even more for trying to answer it. Will help keep you alive till you drop an Atarka. Will lock down something your {draconic roar} can't deal with anymore.

He feels like a SB card. I plan to test him.

I've just found that sometimes I'll play it and need to be able to flash in at least one creature for the game to go well and suddenly it's just dead. Probably just a play error by me though so if it works for you...
