Post by: Munchlax on April 05, 2015, 10:45:29 PM
so if i use {Strionic Resonator} to copy {Alesha, Who Smiles at Death's} ability, do I have to pay the mana to activate her ability?

Yup.  You only copy the trigger, which allows you to pay when it resolves.  In fact, you have to copy the ability before you even pay for the original.

By then, it'll be too late to activate resonator. Alesha's ability only triggers when he/she attacks. Once you target, it's resolving and too late for resonator

The payment is made on resolution, not triggering.  If it were an activated ability with a much different wording, it could be copied, but it's not. The ability's resolution gives you the option to pay.

7/1/2013: Strionic Resonator copies an ability that has triggered and is currently on the stack.

Right. Glowacki, you can't target it after you paid because of your paying for it its resolving. It'll be gone and resonator won't have anything to find of you try to activate after.
