Title: Organizing Deck Lists
Post by: Frisacra on April 01, 2015, 07:42:13 PM
I think that adding the ability to arrange decklists by CMC, alphabetically, by set, (and in the "spells" category - by card type) would be a great feature to add to iMtG.

You can do it in drag and drop mode already.

The thing you can't do is sort on spell type, or am I missing something?

EDIT: I apologize, misread your post. You can manually drag and drop spells in the desired order indeed. I think the suggestion was to have a sorting option do this for you however.

Sounds lazy and unnecessary.

My experience with drag and drop mode is that it's glitched to hell. I'll drag one card into position, scroll down to find another, and then when I scroll back up, the first card has moved on its own. Sorting with it is impossible.

I have not been deck building on imtg in a while and so have not done so on imtg2 yet, but I had the same problem on the original imtg app.

It's actually really simple. If you add a new card to the list however, sometimes the cards will re-arrange, but not actually be in those positions, until you move a card manually. After doing this they will go back to their true locations.

I suppose I'll try to get it to work, but I've been having cards rearrange while I sort other cards. Maybe they'll stay arranged when I finish, but I don't know yet.

Yes, this part was written when I didn't fully grok MVC programming ;)

Yes. Kaylesh was right. My suggestion was to have a sorting option to do it for me. It would be a matter of convenience: I primarily deal with EDH decks, so rearranging cards by the drag and drop method is a total hassle, and before I switched to an iPhone, I was accustomed to an app that automatically ordered them by CMC and card type and also to tappedout.net, so it's just a nice feature that I'm used to seeing. Nonetheless, it's just a suggestion, and I am very pleased with the app!
