Title: Solid land fix
Post by: Dsx Cherno on March 31, 2015, 02:20:52 PM
whats are some solid lands to play in a {B}{G} deck with a splash of {R}? I have 4 {Savage Lands} in there, which work fine, but the {Golgari Rot Farm} isn't working, and I'm iffy on {terramorphic expanse}. The only red cards are covered well with the savage lands and the mana production of the deck itself. I was thinking the BG temple, and BG pain lands. Any ideas that don't break the bank or my life total?

If you don't mind spending a bit you should get fetches and shocks.

I'm trying to keep cost down.

Check lands. {Dragonskull Summit}. Cheap and grade A in my books. There's also {Blackleave Cliffs} style lands but I greatly prefer checks.

What is the BG equivalents to those?

You're lucky I felt like finding it for you.

{Woodland Cemetery} is the check land. There is no fast land for {B}/{G} but there's,

{Twilight Mire} an out of budget filter land.

{Tainted Wood} and the worst name ever printed on a card.

Wood taint isn't Modern. Hmm. Thank you very much.

Added 4 Cemetery and 4 summits to my list. I'll test them later. Thank you very much

Also put 4 {rootbound crag} on there too. I'm thinking if I run 4 Cemetery, and 2 each of Crag and Summit (don't run mountains so that splits my check chance in half) that should pair up well with the Savage Lands.

Glad I could help. If you can get your hands on some shocks they make checks so much better. Sorry about {Tainted Wood}. I just assumed because I happen to have a couple and don't normally acquire cards that are old enough to not be Modern legal.

It'd be pretty disappointing. :P
