People who just write down the same 75 that just won a GP or Pro Tour. They then proceed to build that deck card for card, hoping to do as well as their initial creators. They then realize that there deck fudges out at every tournament because they do not have a solid enough grasp on the deck or its contents to even win a casual game. I really dont understand net decking. I understand people want to win, by why not consider this (what I happen to do)? Professionals are professionals for a reason, they often times create the best decks. But, instead of taking there list card for card, why not take the theme of the deck and implement your own style to make it your own? Ones creativity can be a powerful thing. Having the strength of a deck that wins, and the surprise of a few personal under the radar additions or ideas can make for a dangerous pair. I dont hate playing against net decks because I lose (which I generally dont). I hate playing against them because it reminds me of how little creativity is among the newer more modern magic players. This is a game with thousands of cards to chose from, and yet they are only content playing the same 75 cards another guy played just because it won. It completely baffles me to this day on how that logic works.
Two Words:
Land Destruction
More broadly, with two more words:
Resource denial
This time, in card form:
{Balancing Act}
Leads to two more words:
Grumpy Jester >:(
Seriously, this is the primary tactic by one player in my meta. I always face a {Balancing Act} for zero or a turn three {Braids, Cabal Minion}.
I HATE my friends "ping" deck. (tap: deal 1 dmg to creature or player). Every card in that deck is either a pinger or something that will tack on more such as {needle drop}. I get in a hole every single time where he will sacrifice his life to the point where he has enough pingers that no matter what I put on the board, it will die instantly. Hex proof is the only way around this but my decks don't have enough of it. One time I got so pissed, I crumpled up the {llanowar elf} I had in my hand and threw it in the garbage and just left the room. He kept the elf as a trophy. -_-

Play creatures with more than 1 toughness. Boardwipes are your friend. If you are on a budget, most pingers are generally weak. So {Pyroclasm} should take care of things for you (its a cheap uncommon). That being said, I would like to see him try to kill you with just Needle Drops. If you take out his creatures easily enough, it is commonly known that a Red Mages weakness is his lack of momentum in the mid-late game. He will run out of gas and be in topdeck mode with nothing in play only topdecking needle drops. From that point, just run him over with whatever you want. Whether it be angels, demons, big creatures, etc.
Reanimator. Nuff said.

Unfortunately, we play blind games so we don't know what decks the other person is playing. So I always get stuck playin that deck with either green or white which are more than half of my decks. So he will take the dmg from most of my first few turn creatures just so he can build up his army of pingers. Then kill off anything that is in play or comes into play. There's more than just needle drop but it was just an example bc he will ping my creature than needle drop him without using another pinger. It's just a really annoying deck. And by the time I get to play an overrun or a good trample spell that could essential kill him off, I don't have any creatures that could withstand the barrage.

Just build your own deck. This theory that was proposed as a "Ping" deck is weak. There will not be consistency and force behind this. Any amount of pressure in the right spot will cause this deck to collapse. All you need to do is wipe his board. It is a fact for this theorem to work, one must overextend. There is the weakness, now punish that mistake. If he overextends (which he has to for this to work), and you clear his board, he will lose in a matter of turns.
The two decks I hate are reanimaters and what i call a "cash deck". Cash deck is basically the cheatest card in the deck is 5 dollars a pop and the highest is a 75-100 dollars a card.

I play with guys who use decks without a single basic land. I love hitting them with {Path to Exile}, {Ruination} and {Price of Progress} effects. 👿*EVIL*

^^ this. Because my local meta plays nothing but.
My friend plays a deck with nothing but counters, bounces, {treasure hunt}s , and {serpernt of the endless seas}. I can't play anything of worth and then get slaughtered by his serpent when he uses {artful dodge}
The one deck I truly hate was true caw blade with jace. Because at the time it seemed everyone and their mothers was playing it. Due to net I agree most of the orginality as gone out of the game. But with that said I have created a b/w Sorin token deck of my own creation that owns all the meta decks it has faced. Lol

Haha doh! Forgot to mention the {spreading seas} and cards like that.
I thought so.
How did this make it back up here? :P
Anything hyper aggressive, like RDW. They're so unfun to play against. I prefer standard but my local meta has so much RDW I have started playing EDH. As it's the only format where people play for the long game. Because I can't stand when the game is over in four or five turns. Where's the fun in that?
I'm almost tempted to bring back my stall deck. No win cons but will keep me alive for the entire around. But to draw out every match would just be rude.

Really hate the {U}{R} burn control deck that took over the DOTP15 meta. But in general, any denial deck I dislike. Though it was fun when a friend played my casual stall deck and won out with my own creatures after bleeding me to 8. I felt in control until my creatures turned against me. That's a lot better than the feeling that whatever you do the answer will be a counter.

That last one is my favorite though D:
I can get in the letshateonburn bandwagon. I need LEYLINES in my board. I ain't got no LEYLINES. And whenever I type LEYLINES into my iPad, it autocorrects to an all capital "LEYLINES".
LEYLINES.
{U}{R}{G} control. Whoever thought that was a good idea ought to be shot.

Last night it durdled for 50 minutes (after it had been going places with action). I literally scooped because I was bored. :/
And here ladies in gentlemen, karma kicks in and one if Taysby's decks ruins /his/ day.

Have you ever considered trying for red blue counter burn to combat the extremely tough meta that is U/W Heroic? The cast a thing? Counter. They cast a guy? Burn it in the face. Eh, my Temur midrange hoses pretty well. Counter things, {Reality Shift} trouble spots, have Surrak go to town on poor schlubs with {Temur Charm}. Ugin hits between turns 4 and 8 to stabilize, Prophet of Kruphix makes them cry, GG.
Like I said, the decks are just annoyingly popular and REALLY predictable. You KNOW they run Hero of Iroas and Ordeals. You KNOW {Monastery Mentor} and {Mastery of the Unseen} are there. There is quite literally NO guesswork when playing these decks.
Well, there may be variance in a few of the lists. Maybe some run Mentor, others might run {Eidolon of Countless Battles}. Just saying.
