Title: Descent of the Dragon
Post by: MtgFanatic on March 23, 2015, 09:01:02 AM
ok so I'm planning a {R}{G} dragons deck out and I thought of something.

With {Nissa, Worldwaker}s main ability activated. I bring out all my basic land they are all creatures. Here's my question after {T}Ing {6} for {Descent of the Dragons} can I destroy all my land as well for a possible 12-14 4/4 dragons

As long as the lands in question are creatures they can be targetted by {descent of dragons} regardless of whether or not they are tapped.  However, remember that {descent of dragons} destroys the creatures, rather than having you sacrifice them.

Check release notes on {descent of the dragons}. If no creatures are destroyed no dragons are created.

"For each creature destroyed this way..."

I understand that, but all the land I brought out because of Nissa are 4/4 creatures

All you need is some {Dragon Tempest} for some auto win action. Of course then you could just plan to ult {Sarkhan, Unbroken} instead.

I have a deck built around {Descent of Dragons} and {Dragon Tempest}. It's rough draft but feel free to check it out. It's in standard under "Descent of Damage"

Sorry, apparently I was unclear. If you give your creatures indestructible with medic, you won't get dragons. Blowing up your 4/4 lands for dragons is legit. Just hope they don't field wipe afterwards.

O wait, just realized a field wipe would kill your land anyway...
Just have {tempest of the dragons} or {purphoros, god of the forge} out or something. It will be game. Tempest especially. If you pop 12 dragons, that's 144 damage.
Sorry Link, missed yr post. Didn't mean to steal your combo :)
