Title: quicken in esper mill
Post by: Mr_Fahrenheit on March 15, 2015, 08:07:53 PM
Just want some opinions on this. I dont have time to post my entire deck right now but im toying with the idea of dropping my two maindeck copies of {thought scour} for two copies of {quicken}. I feel like this could have some real synergy with {snapcaster mage}. What do we all think?

Seems not very good... I'd rather just play another card that does something

{Glimpse The Unthinkable} plus {Snapcaster Mage} would be a good one or {Traumatize}

I am never playing {traumatize} in a competitive deck, im just toying with the idea that {quicken} could be better than {thought scour} when i am playing 4 copies of {snapcaster mage} and {glimpse the unthinkable} and {breaking} etc. Just as a way to use my mana more efficiently on my opponents turn, ideally their end step.

{Thought Scour} is mostly relevant for card draw, which {Quicken} has. I'd run it

You should be using all your mans your turn to mill then. Keeping open mana in a mill deck is counter productive.

I play Esper mill a lot and I don't like snaps they slow the deck down.

My deck runs 4 snaps and I've toyed with the idea.  Honestly though, sometimes those 2 cards mean something, I mean when u think about it, it turns ur breaking into a glimpse.  Also, I can keep a hollowed fountain up in case I need to path something or if they just go to end step I can scour them.  If u make the switch, let me know how it goes, but for now, I'm keeping my scours.
