i attack with {mardu strike leader}, he poops his warrior. Can I sack that guy to {butcher of the horde} (just came out this turn) and give him haste so he can attack this turn as well?
Are attackers declared simultaneously? Because I suppose that would mean I can't, right?
Edit: as I post I think I figured it out. He doesn't make the token when declared, he makes it when he's already attacking, so butcher is left in the dust by the time it comes out...
All attackers are assigned simultaneously. By the time Mardu has made the token (which is right after attackers are declared), it's too late to declare Butcher as an attacker.
Assuming your Butcher does not have summoning sickness, you may declare both creatures to attack, and while you still have priority, activate Butchers ability, saccing the token.
Edit: Please not, declaring your butcher to attack THEN activating to give it Vigilance will not cause it to untap.

So that would be relevant if you wanted to give it lifelink before damage step

That's pretty much the only ability that would make sense at that point.
