iMtG Server: Gathering

I've posted this deck a week or so ago and this is the final iteration of it until DoK comes out. The deck plays like an aggro deck with graveyard value. Post board works well against lots of decks in my meta currently. The worst matchup I've had with this deck so far has been UB control. I've finally got some cash and got a play set of thoughtseizes and I've added  {Merciless Executioner}s to deal with  {Silumgar, the Drifting Death}. The counter magic gets to my board because I can chip away with my little guys but the gain life lands they have reverses my damage and then they counter my flayer. Hopefully thoughtseize can help here. Besides that any deck that is aggro this deck matches up very well. UW heroic is easily dealt with as well if I play my removal correctly. RG monsters has given me fits but that was more of luck draws then anything but that is a fun matchup. Ironically the  {Dark Betrayal}s are in the side for mainly for {Siege Rhino}s but I haven't played against that deck yet (somehow). Overall deck is fun and different. They try and sideboard against an agrro strat and it slows me down some what but then flayers and my other bigs take over.

{soulflayer} with deathtouch.

Soulflayer is already awkward enough to attack into. Not worth it IMO

With the minimal amount of value cards for {Soulflayer} I'd be considering cutting him.

Yea any deck that has to run 3 {Gurmag swiftwing} and isn't running {chromanticore} isn't doing it right.

The deck ironically abuses him. Every creature except for the two hordechiefs and three war names have an ability namely haste. Depending how a game goes I can easily drop at the minimum a hasted flayer or a Alesha who is pulling minis from my yard. The removal and haste creatures makes a good enough combo that I can afford having the swiftwings in here to be discarded to tormenting voices and set up flayer. I've had draws where I'm swinging with a turn three flying first strike and haste flayer. I've taken this deck to two standard events. First on I went 3-2 and reworked it. The next day I went 4-1 and was ko-Ed in too 8 by {U}{B} control. Now I have thoughtseizes in the side and the deck is working at an efficient pace. If DoK gives me some good card I can swap some stuff around

I don't really play standard at all but I honestly think that {Soulflayer} should get removed for better ETB/LTB with Alesha.

If I cut him I would cut the bats as well. Problem being I built the deck to play a flayer deck 😄. I would run something like  {Zurgo Bellstriker} as a two of one more  {Flamewake Phoenix} And  {War-Name Aspirant}. That's 4. I'm hoping that the {R}{B} command is 3 mana and it's good because I want to run them. I'm still short 2-3 creatures and I don't see to many I like in here without making this into a completely different deck

The one that if targeted by opponent it lighting bolts? Also this deck would be separate from this one lol. It may not look it on paper but it's fun and it gets there very well.

Yeah. Or stormy but that's a pretty big stretch on your mana base.

So {Kolaghan's Command} was spoiled. Is it worth putting in here?

{Lightning Bolt} vs {Lightning Strike} for example. :-)

I knew it was gonna be 3cmc because of how the spoiler showed the other commands but this one is so underwhelming. Look at the
{W}{U} or {U}{B} ones. They are standard playable!! Even {G}{R} has a chance...

The {W}{U} one is over rated. Playable, but overrated. Everybody that plays {U}{W} control says it's a 2 of.

I think the {U}{B} one will prove to be too much mana for what it does. Probably sit at a one of in most decks. If at all.

The {G}{R} one has given me a serious reason to consider playing {R}{G} burn. That and {Destructive Revelry}. If it wasn't for the fact that {W} has the most killer sideboard in modern.

The new set hasn't really done anything for my deck so far lol

Well we know that  {Renowned Weaponsmith} Has an artifact that he calls out by name and it doesn't exist yet vial of dragon fire

Edit: my command destroys an artifact so I need to run it to counter  {Ensoul Artifact} 😄

I'm starting to think if I need  {Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker} In the deck. Maybe instead of him I can get the {Thunderbreak Regent}. 4 cmc flying and when a dragon is targeted it bolts the opponent. What do you guys think

Sarkhan is more resilient. Run both?

I would but at 21 lands I'm at the critical mass right now for lands vs cmc. I like my other 4 drops right now and I'd rather not bump that curve much more
