Title: Aura gnarlid
Post by: Onlyskau on April 18, 2012, 09:31:16 AM
With inspiration from the innistrad block, that have All those aura curses. I was thinking of combining green/red/Black to make a aura deck based on {aura gnarlid} to build a mean combo deck. Since i am willing to go for specific cards from old blocks to make it work like a charm, dont hesitate to post anything that comes to mind. Would ve highly appreciated :)

I have a {aura gnarlid} based deck.

This is VERY IMPORTANT. you MUST have this. IF YOU DON'T, IT WILL BE VERY ANNOYING.

Minimum of 4 {CANOPY COVER}

4x {rancor} is another "must have" playset in any aura deck, thats for sure..

Totem Armour, {Kor Spiritdancer}, {Daybreak Coronet}, {Mesa Enchantress}, {Enchantresses Presence}.

I have a similar deck, but it has some other things going on too.

{beastmasters magemark} of you enchant more creatures, {verdant embrace} to make blockers so you can attack with the gnarlid, and {vow of wilderness} is iffy but i use it incase someone tries to steal my gnarlid. I stuck with green bc my gnarlid deck is GW. For white, I have {armored ascension} I love my flying gnarlid. He's unstoppable!

The Vows are great on your opponent's creatures too, assuming they can't block with them.  Let's not forget {Armadillo Cloak}! {Retether} and {Replenish} are great for getting things back on track after a sweep spell.

..and u can use {armadillo cloak} on an enemy's creature to negate its dmg :)

So you HAVE to splash a significant amount of White mana on your deck, as you can see...

Love the combos your putting out so far. Might have to make two seperate decks,  😜and i presume, since you post em. The "older" cards still count A's auras even though its not specified on the card?

Like {rancor}

Well, I would.  But it depends on your direction.  There's certainly enough to go mono-green aura beatdown, but G/W loves auras.

Yes, anything with "Enchant Creature" on it will be an aura.

'Cause I'm such a nice Jester.  ;)

If you do go GW, and your willing to deal with the cost, I use {celestial mantle}. Nothing's more annoying to my friends than my "just strong enough so it's unblockBle" gnarlid with the ability to give me god like life.

If you can get it in your gy, BAM! {Retether}

That's how I get it attached. I never play it for its actual mana cost. I think I've played it once for its actual mana cost and that's bc I was playin a wall deck and it was a stalemate
