Basically took this (http://www.channelfireball.com/home/valuable-lessons-modern-death-and-taxes/) and made a couple tiny changes, because $6 {Dismember}s are ridiculous.  I am thinking about jamming {Kitchen Finks} and another {Thalia, Guardian of Thraben} in there.  I'm also considering {Dryad Militant}.

{Gadock Teeg} seems like a very solid option. I'm pretty sure Thalia raises CMC so you can lock people out hardcore.

I also feel like you want something to save your creatures like {Cloudshift} to also increase value. Just a thought.

Hmm.  Forgot about {Gaddock Teeg}.  May look into that, as well.  I don't like {Cloudshift}, though.

Eternal witness seems pretty good here. I'd also throw in brushlands and temple gardens they're cheap. Temple gardens are like 4-5 bucks on MODO yea?

Hows thragtusk? I don't know about other people, but I really like him in this meta. Trades with rhino, leaves behind a dude. Almost has as big of a life swing as rhino. It's not as good, but still fine. Looks a tad clunky in this deck though

I don't really know yet.  I've only ever drawn him when it didn't matter anyway.  I got to play him against Abzan, but the Rhino and Goyf beat him out by a long shot haha.  But, that's the only time I've gotten him out.  He seems kinda meh, though.  He may be next on the chopping block.

Also, made some changes.  Let me know if I'm being dumb or making it better.

I'm having so much fun with this that I was looking into buying it in paper, but .love. that.  Paper magic is so expensive.  $25+ Vial?  No thanks.

Is {Crucible of Worlds} worth playing?
Title: Re: GW DnT
Post by: Ekann1 on March 16, 2015, 07:27:36 PM
I would say no, but if I were you I might not listen to me...

Anyway it just seems so far off much of your game plan that it's not worth a spot in your deck.

I just kinda like it to break {Ghost Quarter} even more, but I don't know if that makes it worth a slot as a one-of.

This list is not updated yet. I've changed it around a bit more.

Also, is {Gaddock Teeg} relevant?  I've thought about investing in two, but what does he hit?  {Cryptic Command} and {Murderous Cut} and nothing else?  Or is there something big in forgetting?  I know he hoses Tron, but I've seen Tron once in the many many games I've played

Also hoses Miracles, does some good against Junk iirc... Stops Scapeshift until they remove him.

He's not awesome, but he's good.

Miracles isn't relevant in modern, I can't think of what he hits in Junk (only the odd {Sorin, Solemn Visitor} or the {Batterskull} out of the SB,) and Scapeshift has not been very prevalent, but it is worth noting.  I feel like I'm pretty well dead to {Scapeshift}.  Maybe a one or two-of in the SB wouldn't hurt for {Scapeshift} and {Cryptic Command} specifically.  Hmmmmm.

{Wrath of God}, {Damnation}, {Supreme Verdict}. All straight board wipes are 4+

{Zombify}, {Un burial Rites}, {Vigor Mortis}. Most reanimation spells are 4+ except for things like {Living Death}.

All Planeswalkers that aren't {Liliana of the Veil}, {Jace Beleren} or {Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver} are 4+

{Splinter Twin} is 4.

Seems pretty relevant to be. Then again I play on untap most of the time which is a strange meta.

Wraths are almost never relevant unless it's {Anger of the Gods} and he doesn't hit that.

Reanimator isn't a thing in modern.

The only PW I'm really concerned about is {Liliana of the Veil}.

{Splinter Twin} is a consideration.

I've been seeing quite a few {Gifts Ungiven} decks with Iona and {Unburial Rites}

Ok, so updated with current list.  I'm not set on {Serra Avenger}.  It's kinda meh so far.

Some things I'm considering:
1x {Tectonic Edge}
Xx {Voice of Resurgence} (mostly a monetary issue :P )
2x {Horizon Canopy}
1x {Eternal Witness}
Xx {Brimaz, King of Oreskos} (see VoR)
Xx {Scavenging Ooze}
Xx {Wilt-Leaf Liege} (see VoR)

Thoughts on these?

Because they abuse a misprinted card and it's legit for some reason? I mean really guys? I like {Gifts Ungiven} as it's printed. It's cool. Four mana to tutor creature X and {Unburial Rites} to GY is not.
