It's surprisingly powerful. He currently can't afford fetch lands but is attempting to acquire shocks

I run a deck like this except I have one less norin and I use  {Genesis Chamber}, {Ranger of Eos}, and {Serra Ascendant}

Serra ascendant is a must. Also  {Spectral Procession} Is very solid and can win games.

If he can afford it, {Auriok Champion} in place of {Suture Priest}

Serra ascendant is a must. Also  {Spectral Procession} Is very solid and can win games.

Not to be rude, but those are not really what you want in this type of build. I played this deck at a GP and tested it a bunch, and I can update and bump my list if you like.

Not rude at all, but maybe I don't understand why you'd think a 6/6 flying lifelink for {W} doesn't fit this build. Same thing goes for 3 spirits for {W}{W}{W}?

No room for the spirits and the ascendant is expemsive and he doesn't want to spend money on four

I never had any luck with {Serra Ascendant}. I have a B/W list somewhere that still runs it but I'd never pay that much money for it.

It's pretty amazing in my soul sisters build, but I run the mono white version. Just check the price...  When did it jump so much?  I think I payed 10$ A piece.

I find this list to be more ETB effect oriented. I found that once it's a 6/6 for {W} it's late enough that my Ajani's Pridmate does the same thing, except keeps growing :P .

I assume your mono white list has Martyr? That explosive life gain to lets it start as 6/6, while with this list it will take a while.


As for the procession, again in this build you want either stuff that will retrigger your ETB effects (ie, Norin) or things that give more value when other things enter. With your Knights that's I'm blanking on the name, you have approximately 6-8 copies of Norin floating around. There's no shortage of ETBs. Now something needs to trigger when that happens, and the Spirits certainly do not.

Oh right, I forgot about this until I looked at my list. 1 {Legion Loyalist} is awesome :D
