Title: Discussion about functionality
Post by: Noblellama on February 03, 2015, 08:53:59 PM
Playing a deck that has both black and white
Don't want to drop the money on 4 {Hero's Downfall} But I do have 4 {Utter End}

Costs one more and requires 2 colors but can hit more targets and handles {Sarkhan, the Damnindestructable}

Thoughts?

{Utter End} is fantastic, but I don't think it's a straight across replacement for {Hero's Downfall}. Depending on the deck and meta you can get by with {Banishing Light}. A combination of {Banishing Light}, {Hero's Downfall} and {Murderous Cut} should be able to hold it down without breaking the bank. I personally ran 4 {Hero's Downfall} and 2 {Utter End} then usually swapped {Utter End} for more specific removal game two unless my opponent was running varied enough threats.

{murderous cut} + {utter end}= {hero's downfall}.

I have plenty of downfalls. I would trade but only for foil standard stuff. What do you have?

Downfall is funny for me. I ripped 3 of them before really knowing their value, and was like, "oh...neat card." Now I know they're quite valuable to people....never again shall one be found.

Same exact thing with sylvan caryatid. Girlfriend had two thoughtseize and never thought to mention.
