Title: Hooded hydra
Post by: Jlamb5 on February 03, 2015, 04:51:28 PM
if {hooded hydra} gets manifested, if you turn it over for GG, does it get the 5 +1/+1 counters that it says it gets ejen turned up or is that only if it is U morphed

Hooded Hydra doesn't care how it's being turned face-up, only that it's happening.  If you Manifest it, then pay it's mana cost (XGG and X being 0), it'll still get those counters.

That's what I figured, but there's some tricky things in magics rulings so I just wanted to make sure. Now I know that {whisper wood elemental} has some good synergy!

And that's why you have to keep track of what comes in from morph and what comes in off Manifest.  Now we have handy reminder overlays, and I'd suggest using them.

Manifest {phyrexian drednaught}

Oh my....that's works....

Oh yea. You can also {restoration angel} your manifested {emrakul, the aeons torn} and you'll get a fancy new eldrazi.

Do derail this topic more, I'm probably gonna rework my Ixidor morph tribal deck to be Brago Manifest to abuse ways of cheating mana costs through flicker and detrimental ETBs with Manifest.

I knew about flickering morphs and manifests, I just never thought about the denial of ETB abilities that way.

I always viewed it as sad since I like creatures with positive ETB abilities, I never considered it for prevention of negative ones...
Flickering morphs? So if you flicker a face down card it enters face up??

Yup. It's why some mono-white decks run {Akroma, Angel of Fury}.

If you flicker a morphed/manifested {hooded hydra}, it dies
