Figured I'd share what I've been crushing with. This deck is the real deal. After my showing at the PTQ on Sunday, I know what I'll be playing until rotation. Psst, it's this.

Why the Purphoros?

Why the Purphoros?

Purphoros is an allstar. He comes in vs control and is very hard to answer if he resolves. He steals away games you're losing with ease. Very good. I reccommend testing him to anyone on this deck.

Lots of damage with tokens with purphoros

Only 3 rabble seems bad

Have you ever found yourself switching to full control?

no  {Triplicate Spirits}? The convoke along with Jeskai Ascendency is just unfair

Outburst is fine as his only sorcery, everything else is instant tokens or damage

Oops he also has cruise

I would suggest
Maybe 4 rabbles and 4 Taylor Swiftspear for t1 damage
If you're not worried about life gain, maybe swap out seekers completely, make t2 a lightning bolt, or another swift spear and shock
Drop a cruise, ascendancy and outburst maybe?

Swiftspear isn't great; and the four cards you mentioned to take out are really not the cards to be taken out anyway

This list is the result of a LOT of testing lol. The reason for the 3,3 split on rabbles and mentors is because we don't want that many 3 drops. Also about spirits, that's not something i really want to be doing. Outburst is 572838x better as it convokes for red for my stokes. And dropping a cruise is just silly, sorry muggy :p

I think you should maybe go for a 4-2 split of rabble and mentor, in favour of rabble. When we were testing with mentor, he just seemed lacklustre. He's fine on three, because they have to remove him. On four he's a bit worse, five he's kinda bad, six he's fine, but can't do what you want him to do, and as a topdeck, he can't apply the pressure that you want out of your creatures. Rabble is great every turn you can play him, and applies pressure extremely well.

I'd be thinking drop {Seeker of the Way} for +1 {Monestary Mentor} +1 {Goblin Rabblemaster}. Seeker is good, but he's not exactly what the deck is trying to do, which is go wide and pump with {Jeskai Ascendancy}. If you're worried about life add the fourth {Jeskai Charm}.

Seeker just puts games away. Af most points he'll be a 4/4 lifelink. Most decks can't handle the pressure or life gain seeker provides

Seeker is the best creature in the deck

Why no Soulfire Grand Master?  Seems to me he'd be great with all that burn.

We tried him out. He was never worth the slot. He dies too quickly to gain much life, doesn't attack through caryatid/courser, and i think in all our testing ~50 games with him, i activated his ability one time.

I have a Boros deck with soulfire. I think most people are using him incorrect. Yes he is only a 2/2 but I use him for late game life gain only. Or turn 3 drop him with {Gods Willing} in hand.
This deck is not meant to let it become much of a late game.

{Soulfire Grand Master} is a more counterburn card. I only have him in the sideboard of my Jeskai Counterburn deck for Modern.

May I ask why you don't run {collateral damage} over lightning strike? Seems solid to me but maybe your experience can tell me something.

A single token will typically deal 3+ damage in its life, so saccing it for 3 doesn't do much.
