Title: Damage
Post by: mickeven on January 27, 2015, 03:07:15 PM
This has been bothering me for a while. Lets say its my main phase, and I  {Pyrotechnics} my oponent's  {Shivan Dragon}. Then in my Combat phase I attack with a  {Raging Goblin} and the opponent blocks it with his Shivan Dragon that took the damage on my main phase. Will the Shivan Dragon die?

119.6. (http://imtgapp.com/forum/index.php?action=imtg;area=rule;number=119.6.): Damage marked on a creature remains until the cleanup step, even if that permanent stops being a creature. If the total damage marked on a creature is greater than or equal to its toughness, that creature has been dealt lethal damage and is destroyed as a state-based action (see rule 704). All damage marked on a permanent is removed when it regenerates (see rule 701.12, "Regenerate") and during the cleanup step (see rule 514.2).
