My friend and I played the pre release yesterday and he ended up getting three Monastery Mentor through out the day and he's just OP he has done over 60 damage to me in the matter of 3 turns its dumb
Yep, I've been saying this since he was spoiled. Mentor is incredible and will be at the very least tested in every format:
Standard: Jeskai Wins
Modern: UWR Delver or UWR Tempo or UWR Midrange
Legacy: UWR Delver similar to BBD's Jeskai Stoneblade list
Vintage: don't know too much, but a lot people have said he is a powerhouse and will replace JTMS as a finisher in many decks
Commander: value!!!!!!
Tiny Leader: value!!!!!!!!!!!
Sealed/Draft: Windmill slam
He will be most impact full in Vintage I think :P which is sick!!!! Khans Block is changing up eternal formats!!
Channel Fireballs Caleb What's His Name did an article on new cards. And Mentor was said to replace {Young Peezy} in many decks bc 1 mana is meh in vintage and it's tokens are far better than YPs tokens as the tokens are not dependent on Mentor so if the mentor dies you still have prowess tokens. Also the fact that your sol ring and mixed trigger it are a huge bonus!!

Caleb Durward. And it depends which of the pros you talk to. LSV has gone on record as saying the extra mana is very relevant.
I could see a modern RW burn shell where {young pyromancer} exists alongside {monastery Mentor} and {Taylor Swiftspear}.
