3/3 double strike attacks.
1/1 blocks.
First strike damage, 3/3 assigns 1 damage to the 1/1 and 2 to the player. Then normal combat damage, nothing is in the way so 3 damage to the player. End result, 1/1 is dead, 3/3 is unscathed and the defending player has taken 5 damage.
3/3 double strike attacks.
3/3 blocks.
First strike damage, 3/3 double strike assigns 3 damage to the 3/3. Then normal damage. Again, nothing is in the way so 3 damage to the player. End result, 3/3 is dead, 3/3 double strike is unscathed and the defending player has taken 3 damage.
3/3 double strike attacks.
5/5 blocks.
First strike damage, 3/3 assigns 3 damage to the 5/5. Normal damage. 3/3 finishes off the 5/5 with 2 more damage, and assigns one to the player. 5/5 assigns full damage to the 3/3. End result, everything dies, defending player takes 1 damage.
Hope this was helpful!
Yes very helpful. Thank you. I play more experienced players and they always seem to exaggerate their plays and minimize mine. Temur battle rage and shu yun, the silent tempest activated ability are my trample and double strike sources.
I'm always happy to help! Doesn't sound like the healthiest meta... Prerelease or constructed deck?
Temur battle rage and shu yun the silent tempest. During prerelease.
Sorry to add on a question, but what about a 6/4 double strike trample being blocked by a 4/2 double strike?
6/4 double strike trample attacks.
4/2 double strike blocks
First strike damage. 6/4 assigns 2 damage to the 4/2 and 4 to the player. 4/2 assigns 4 damage to the 6/4. Nothing is present for normal combat damage. End result, everything dies, defending player takes 4.
Make sense?
Yuppie seems legit just wanted to make sure we got it correct yesterday
