Title: Deadeye Navigator
Post by: Balefire Hellkite on January 11, 2015, 10:05:24 AM
If {Deadeye Navigator} is soulbonded with, let's say {Zealous Conscript}. I bounce the conscript to steal another permanent. When it comes back into play, is it still soulbonded with the Deadeye? And can I blink the Deadeye to soulbond with another creature?

The only format I've seen him played in is EDH. And he isn't that broken, he's actually pretty easy to deal with.

Hes definitely not "easy to deal with" in edh unless they play him and dont soulbond him. Tons of extremely broken interactions with him. Definitely part of the reason {sylvan primordial} was banned.

He comes in or another creature comes in. Soulbond trigger. Kill while trigger is on stack. No soulbond. Problem solved.
I personally have never seen the problem with him because he never sticks.

Chances are they have counter magic to prevent that. I guess ive been playing different edh games than you...

Soulbond is a trigger? I thought it came into play soulbonded
Soulbond is a triggered ability that doesn't target

702.94a (http://imtgapp.com/forum/index.php?action=imtg;area=rule;number=702.94a): Soulbond is a keyword that represents two triggered abilities. "Soulbond" means "When this creature enters the battlefield, if you control both this creature and another creature and both are unpaired, you may pair this creature with another unpaired creature you control for as long as both remain creatures on the battlefield under your control" and "Whenever another creature enters the battlefield under your control, if you control both that creature and this one and both are unpaired, you may pair that creature with this creature for as long as both remain creatures on the battlefield under your control."

Board wipes 4tw. Sylvan wasn't banned because of Navigator at all.

{Supreme Verdict} yeah! countering is always an option. Also {Boseiju, who shelters all}.

My Navigator never stays on the table very long.
Plus, since you brought up counters, how'd he resolve in the first place?

{cavern of souls}, duh! And in magical chrismas land, i also have {eldrazi monument} so verdict can eat it. Better hope you draw {merciless eviction}.

A). Having Boseiju isn't magical Christmas land.
B). Eviction is just another potential board wipe.
C). We're way off topic and should probably drop it. Suffice it to say, Navigator isn't really ban worthy.

I'd rather see {Sol Ring} and other turn 1-2 mana rocks banned, but that won't happen.
