Title: Necrope vs. Festering Newt with Gift of Immortality
Post by: TheHarmAlarm on January 05, 2015, 10:50:13 AM
Say my opponent has a Necropede and I block it with a Festering Newt with Gift of Immortality. How does Necropede's ability to put a -1/-1 counter on a creature when it dies resolve. Would he be able to target my Festering Newt after it returns to the battlefield?

No the ability can't target the new newt. The newt would have to be on the battlefield when the ability is put on the stack.

Alright, thanks. That was what I had thought originally.
