So I just got into Magic when I got the Infernal Intervention pack for Christmas. I wanted to build a deck around the boss known as, "Indulgent Tormentor", and the ideal deck to run is Mono Black. Problem is that I dont exactly what to do as far as making this deck work. I only have the cards from the intro deck and some cards my friend traded atm. Please remember that I just got into the game and I don't know what most cards do. Ik the deck is incomplete, but can someone please help me build a good mono black deck. Thanks

I would go the devotion route. So 4x {grey merchant of asphodel}, 4x {squelching leeches}, a few {abhorrent overload}s, some {herald of torment}s and {erebos, god of the dead}. {sign in blood} and {hero's downfall} would both be good. Maybe a small discard package with {waste not}, {thoughtseize} and the like.

I didnt realize this was casual instead of standard. Try to figure out the theme you want to build around. Do you want to force your opponents to sacrifice creatures? Then {grave pact}, {dictate of erebos}, {viscera seer} and things like that could be really good.
