So my recent quest for building a unique mono color deck for each color draws upon its end, and I find myself facing Black as final challenger. While flipping through trade binders wracking my brain for ideas on how to make a mono black deck that was different, my eyes fell upon {Glistening Oil} and I started to think about an infect sub-theme.
You don't see much infect in commander, aside from {Blightsteel Colossus}, and it got me thinking - is it because infect cards typically aren't good enough for the format, or because players tend to hate it or find it unfun?
Can infect be made fun? Should I try, or is this sub-theme an idea doomed to either fail or be TOO powerful?
I like it as another win condition I have in my golgari deck. Not as the primary.
Also, Goto sleep Gorzo, shouldn't be losing sleep over infect in EDH Gorzo :)

im working on a {Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon} infect deck and i think it will be really fun to play
As an infect possessor myself I would have to say u have to make it fun, we boosted the infect counters up to 20 or half the beginning life total. But I say go for it. If nothing else it gives u a win option like previously mentioned. Lots of options to throw In that do not involve infect at all
It's got to be a pain in the ass to realize your opponents deck ALSO is an infect deck in addition to a sac board control deck ;)
Instead of infect, play combo in the for of {Maralen of the Mornsong}
Love infect as a commander theme, skittles is the best choice. Wish we had a legendary sultai colored commander, the deck would be unstoppable lol.
Skittles is the only choice for the commander.
Look at cards with Wither as well. Primarily {Necroskitter}.

Lol I'm not getting the joke.
I'm going for it, I hope I can make it fun and not irritating. Expect a deck posting after Christmas, once I have an ob nixilis deck to deconstruct for a few fun bits :P
