Title: Fake alter arts...
Post by: Hunteroffire9 on November 25, 2014, 11:51:11 PM
a little while ago there was a large buz over the fake Chinese mtg cards being printed. I was looking at some really cool alternate arts online one day and was about to buy them but then I thought, how can it be proved that they were real? If most of a card is painted over besides name label, minor mistakes can be covered. One of the key ways for identifying a fake was to look at the copyright symbol, if it's painted over what do you do? What test won't work? Bend test might destroy paint? I'm kind of worried,

Thoughts?

Microscope and the side of the card for a blue check. Or you could rip one...

Well it's kind of a loophole in the whole thing. Because someone can just print a fake over a real card and paint over it...its kind of a rough area to find yourself in.
