This is not a blanket rule people. Imagine a {Furnace of Wrath} style spell and a "copy target instant/sorcery" style spell. EDH, my history of playing, is the land of anything goes in the right circumstance.

*small damage burn (1-5ish damage) is bad, usually.

But then you're devoting a slot to a card that is normally really bad, but becomes pretty good if you have both furnace of rath and some kind of spell copier out. I'm personally not a fan of having bad cards in my deck because they go well with other cards, unless it's some kind of insta win combo

I make decks that have multiple possibilities at any given time, thematically. So I've had successful burn decks with shocks and helixes and bolts with multiple versions of furnace and multiple versions of copiers. Regardless, different styles, different tactics, different motives.

Anyway, {Aurelia, the Warcaller}? Good go nice! Or even Razia (sorry, can't link, don't remember her name and database is bugged and crashy on my device 😔).
