So I'm building Miracles, and I can't decide between Joe Lossett's list and Reid Duke's list, looking for advice. Joe Lossett is the Miracles Master and his deck has some unique features, but my playstyle as a long-game control purist fits Duke's list better. Help?
Joe Lossett:
Creatures (5)
1 Snapcaster Mage
3 Vendilion Clique
1 Venser, Shaper Savant
Planeswalkers (3)
3 Jace, the Mind Sculptor
Lands (23)
4 Island
1 Mountain
2 Plains
1 Arid Mesa
4 Flooded Strand
1 Mystic Gate
4 Scalding Tarn
3 Tundra
1 Volcanic Island
2 Karakas
Spells (29)
4 Sensei's Divining Top
4 Counterbalance
4 Brainstorm
1 Counterspell
3 Force of Will
1 Misdirection
1 Pyroblast
1 Red Elemental Blast
2 Spell Pierce
2 Swords to Plowshares
2 Entreat the Angels
4 Terminus
Sideboard
1 Grafdigger's Cage
1 Pithing Needle
1 Izzet Staticaster
2 Rest in Peace
2 Flusterstorm
1 Misdirection
1 Pyroblast
1 Red Elemental Blast
1 Wear
1 Venser, Shaper Savant
1 Council's Judgment
1 Entreat the Angels
1 Supreme Verdict
Reid Duke:
Lands
2 x Plains
5 x Island
1 x Mountain
1 x Karakas
3 x Tundra
1 x Volcanic Island
4 x Flooded Strand
4 x Scalding Tarn
2 x Arid Mesa
Noncreature Spells
4 x Brainstorm
4 x Sensei's Divining Top
4 x Swords to Plowshares
2 x Red Elemental Blast
2 x Counterspell
3 x Counterbalance
2 x Council's Judgment
2 x Entreat the Angels
4x Jace, the Mind Sculptor
1 x Supreme Verdict
4 x Force of Will
3 x Terminus
2 x Dig Through Time
Sideboard
1 x Tormod's Crypt
1 x Grafdigger's Cage
1 x Rest in Peace
1 x Peacekeeper
2 x Pyroblast
1 x Blue Elemental Blast
1 x Flusterstorm
2 x Spell Pierce
1 x Counterbalance
1 x Baneslayer Angel
1 x Supreme Verdict
2 x Vendilion Clique
I wonder if there is a good middleground, for example, use Reid's list, but cut the fourth {Jace, the Mind Sculptor} for a Clique or a {Counterbalance}?
It kind of depends on your play style, both versions are fine. I prefer the 4 Ponder build advocated by Philipp Shonegger(sp) myself, as it trades some cute/powerful cards for consistency.
4-Ponder
3 {Snapcaster Mage}
4 {Ponder}
4 {Brainstorm}
4 {Counterbalance}
4 {Terminus}
4 {Swords to Plowshares}
4 {Sensei's Divining Top}
4 {Force of Will}
3 {Jace, the Mind Sculptor}
2 {Counterspell}
2 {Entreat the Angels}
1 {Council's Judgement}
4 {Flooded Strand}
4 {Scalding Tarn}
2 {Arid Mesa}
3 {Tundra}
2 {Volcanic Island}
4 {Island}
2 {Plains}
Sideboard
Don't remember off the top of my head
I was led to believe that the Ponder build was better suited for the European meta, and less so to the American meta. Now, that could be thrown completely out of whack but the rise of {Treasure Cruise}, but I'm going to do some digging, thanks for the list :)
I don't play miracles but it seems like the stone forge mystic package is a good way to go. I think it's the one BBD used for a while.
I'll post my list when I get home from work. I dont claim that it is better than any other list, but it works for me and if nothing else you can use it as a point of reference.

I never really like BBD's stoneforge package, I think it muddles the deck, forcing you to choose between a land-go game and aggressor game. Don't get me wrong, sometimes it's necessary and {Batterskull} is great in this meta, but it doesn't fit my playstyle

Thanks, every reference helps, I don't have any legacy players in my area to talk to (the college I'm going to next year has a lot of legacy though :) )

Where are you headed next year, if you don't mind me asking?

Cool, I'm on the other side of the state unfortunately.
Saw your post on the source, there should be some helpful opinions there : )
+4 treasure cruise
No cruise, ya lose!
I am considering going down to 2 Jace and adding a {Dig Through Time}, as it seems very strong.
Dig seems really good. Plus it flips to counter TC.
I like Reid's list more
Reid dukes is much better in the current meta. You need dig to keep up in the current meta.
