This is my attempt to show an alternate reality version of my Oloro deck. I dropped blue, and added red. I might want to do this in the future

Love love love it!  What are your thoughts about  {Sorin, Solemn Visitor} In this style of deck, his plus will usually be irrelevant but te emblem would be nice to have. Also what about  {Assemble the Legion} Or even  {Fleshbag Marauder} That you can bring back with  {Sun Titan}?

{Assemble the Legion} sounds good. Thats a nice army-in-a-can card. {Sorin, Solemn Visitor} isnt good in a creatureless deck, and his ultimate ability is {The Abyss}. I don't love the effect enough to buy an {Abyss}, and not try to carry a planeswalker to getting that emblem. But thank you. It's all hypothetical. I have too many blue decks (5 of 5 EDH decks play Blue). Figure this would get me away from it. But my Oloro stax deck is like over 95% foiled...I don't know if I want to start over.

Fair enough, sounds sweet though, love your decks and that you give descriptive detail on all of them.

I mean...looking at my list it would only take a couple hundred to switch over. I need foil {Blood Crypt}, {Sacred Foundry}, {Arid Mesa}, {Bloodstained Mire}, 4 Zendikar full-art {Mountain} and some cheapo stuff. I could even possibly trade some of the stuff I have towards what I need....hmmm...

Well I'd use my Blue pieces to trade for the new stuff. But red is such a good Stax color....

I hope you don't mind, but I proxied this up and played against my friend (replacing a few things, nether void and moat with {Descent into Madness} and  {Assemble the Legion} as I know I won't be able to get the other cards.) and the deck performed amazingly! It was sweet to get assemble into play, then descent into madness, and cast  {Armageddon}. Slowly dwindled everyone's resources away, was beautiful!

{Descent into Madness} is a bit unstable for me. I prefer {Smokestack}. I might drop {Bitterblossom} for it, since blossom could outright kill me without Oloro. I do like this setup a bunch, I just have to convince myself it's really even worth it. My Oloro deck is already just so good that I barely play it anymore.

Descent pairs well with {Assemble the legion}

So does {Smokestack}. Only you can control {Smokestack} and MUST have {Assemble the Legion} if you hope to get out in front of {Descent into Madness}

But descent also gives you card advantage where smokestack won't

Question while I have some of you here. Which is more swagged out:
{Zurgo Helmsmasher}: Khans Prerelease Promo or Duel Deck version?
{Utter End}: Prerelease Promo or GameDay Top 8?

For utter end top eight is more exclusive which makes it more swaggy
Prerealease zurgo because it is foily and shows you were at the Prerealease

I wonder how many {Utter End} Prerelease promos even exist though. Like it could potentially be the rarest version of the card, because it was 1 of 40 promos, 1 in 8 Mardu Prerelease decks. The card is virtually worthless post-rotation, so it's all relative. But each store that is permitted to run Prerelease are given 8 {Utter End} (some more) X thousands of stores.

Wizards doesn't release the numbers, but I wonder which is the more rare version.

I personally like the DD Zurgo more.

Something like {Necropotence}? I need to conserve my life total with this version of the deck, but drawing cards is good. What'd you have in mind?

I'm honestly not sure 😔 that's why I was wondering if you knew at all. Maybe someone else knows, how do you feel about the new  {Loreseeker's Stone}?

EDIT: maybe something like  {Syphon Mind}?

Usually with this deck you're making tokens with assemble, goblin assault, or elspeth, plus zurgo gaining 7+ is good
